Discover the magic of folk music and folk dance at our 2025 camp!

The Kallós Zoltán Foundation 2025 will organise its traditional Folk Music and Folk Dance Camp 2025 from 10-17 August, where we will take you on a journey into the world of folk music and folk dance. If you would like to learn Bonchidai, ördöngösfüzes or Black Lak dances and get to know the unique sounds of folk music, this is the place for you!

The camp offers dance and instrumental lessons every day with live orchestra accompaniment, where you can learn from the best experts. You can choose from dances ranging from beginner level exorcism weaving to intermediate black and white or advanced Bonchidai dances, to lessons accompanied by the best instructors and bands:
Csongor Könczei and his partner – Ördöngősfüzesi dances, music by the Mezőség band.
Zsolt Kiss and his partner – black lac dances
Tibor Feketelaki and Melinda Székely – dances of Bonchida, music by the Rezeda band.

In addition to the dance lessons, this year’s programme also includes instrumental lessons, where only advanced musicians are welcome to apply to learn the music of the Mezőség. The teachers will be Florin Codoba and Mihai Radac, members of the Palatka orchestra, and the professional instructor will be András Sinkó.

In addition to the dance lessons, the camp will offer a rich cultural programme: performances, concerts, a folk tavern, museum educational sessions, a thematic ball, film screenings and, of course, the Bagó Band led by Péter Balla will keep the party going until dawn! Every day you can also take part in a two-hour folk singing class led by Emőke Sántha.

Start of the camp:
Campers are expected to arrive in Válaszút on Sunday 10 August 2025 from 15:00, registration is at the craft house. Sunday programme: dinner at 19:00, opening ceremony and dance at 21:00.

Target group:
The camp is open to young people and adults over 17 years old, no upper age limit!
